Από την ίδρυση τους, το 1931, μέχρι σήμερα τα Εργαστήρια Vichy έχουν έναν και μόνο στόχο: να εργάζονται αδιάκοπα, σε συνεργασία με τη διεθνή ιατρική και επιστημονική κοινότητα, ώστε να κατανοήσουν καλύτερα το ζωτικό αυτό όργανο που λέγεται επιδερμίδα.
Το 1931, κατά την διάρκεια παραμονής του στην Vichy, o κοσμητολόγος George Guerin, είχε ένα μικρό ατύχημα στο πόδι του. Παρουσίασε λοιπόν έντονο πόνο που φάνηκε όμως να απαλύνεται με την δράση του Ιαματικού Νερού της Vichy. Εκείνη την στιγμή γεννήθηκε μια καινούργια ιδέα στο χώρο της κοσμητολογίας: ο Οργανισμός της Υγείας της Επιδερμίδας της Vichy, μια νέα σύλληψη δερμοκαλλυντικών για την υγεία της επιδερμίδας.
